Another aural treat from Seattle's most under-rated band. While not as all-out excellent as their debut album, "Low Beat Time" is still a good record if a bit of a grab-bag. The Fellows have aged gracefully, but they can still rock (evidenced on "Mr. Anthony's Last," "She Won't Budge," and others), and their unique wit is still evident ("She Won't Budge," "Snow White," "Green Green, and more). There are a few oddballs ("The Crafty Clerk" is a weird instrumental featuring trombone and flute), and the sound varies from song to song ("She Won't Budge" and "99 Girls" are ragged rockers, "Faultless" is a melancholy ballad, not to mention the aforementioned "Crafty Clerk"), but overall it's a good disc. And where did they get that "hidden" track?

If you know the Fellows, you'll enjoy this record. If you don't know the Fellows, this album may seem a bit strange (you might want to try their first two albums before venturing here), but trust me: try it, you'll like it.

I found Turbocad 10 Deluxe to be very powerful, a little slow to learn for 3d work, and at a great price. OK, maybe not as powerful as AutoCad, but with the huge price difference a great value. Other applications are easier for home design and remodeling projects, but for near professional 3d cad work it's good. Recommend novice cad users buy good book or interactive tutorial.

This cad program is fine if you are a pro at using cad programs but I would avoid it if you are a novice. The makers tried to incorperate too many functions in single modes thus making it harder to use. Since I can't return it I purchased the 9.2 version which I believe is a easier program to use than this one. I uninstalled this program and reinstalled my 9.2 version and glad I did.

The release of a new album by the Revolutionary Ensemble should come as a shock to many. From their start in the ‘70s they were a mysterious band. They were one of the first string bands to record free jazz. They were a cooperative trio made up of three very individual composers. They mixed chamber music with free jazz and funneled it all through the philosophy of the AACM. Their recordings were on small and often hard-to-find labels or self-released, for the most part. Their one major label release was on Horizon Records; a label owned by A&M that was designed to release class projects. Soon though the label folded and the catalog went out of print. Within a few years the band dissolved and with them their recorded output faded away.

Fast-forward 27 years and suddenly the band emerge again as if time had stopped. This year has seen the re-release of The Psyche, an album that had originally come out on their own RE Records; a sold out standing-room performance at the Vision Festival in NYC in May; and now a new studio album. As in the past, the album is made up of compositions from all three members.

The album opens with Sirone’s "Berlin Erfahrung." The piece has a lovely, hummable melody that carries it throughout. The center of the album is "911-544," a five-piece suite by Jerome that opens the palette of the album up sonically. The album closes with a piece of mini chamber music in "Ism Schism." Graceful yet cutting, the album sounds matured in a way that their output from the ‘70s didn’t. Perhaps it is the improved sound quality, or the time and experience that have filled their playing, but somehow the time apart seems to have cemented the group’s focus and direction. The challenge of playing avant-garde string music has reached a new level and the sound of the cooperative trio has come together to be more than the three individuals were on their own.

Among unexpected but welcome returns, the Revolutionary Ensemble's recent appearance both onstage at this years Vision Fest in NYC and their current studio recording from Pi Recordings have to be the jazz highlight for 2004. The legendary group disbanded in the late 1970's after five obscure albums, so it is nothing short of shocking that the Revolutionary Ensemble is back, and not just for a one off gig, but back to stay.

After numerous poorly recorded and self released albums from their heyday, "And Now ..." finds the trio at their most sonically assured and innovative. Violinist Leroy Jenkins, bassist Sirone and drummer/pianist Jerome Cooper chime back in with an exquisitely recorded studio album destined to top numerous year end best of lists.

Featuring pieces written by all three band members, the variety is staggering but maintains a definite sense of cohesion through out. The opening tune, "Berlin Erfahung," reminiscent of fellow violinist Billy Bang's sort of folksy avant jazz, tumbles along on a catchy groove both swinging and excitable. There are other short tunes present on the album as well. "Rumi Tales" is a lean trio excursion that delves into the more aggressive side of the avant garde. Cooper's loping drum rolls and unpredictable accents push the other two along at an excitable clip, with both Jenkins and Sirone bowing and grinding away. "Light" on the other hand reveals a more starkly contemplative aesthetic, with slowly building call and response sections. "Ism Schism," which closes the album has a semi-classical structure, but not without a sense of dry academic humor permeating it's explosive improvisational interjections.

But it's "911-544," the albums lengthy centerpiece that showcases the trios amazing sonic and conceptual diversity. A melancholy and episodic suite dedicated to the multifarious shifting emotions precipitated by the 9-11 tragedy and its aftermath, it allows the three to explore areas of sonic exploration vast enough to incorporate their full spectrum of available sound. Everything from ominous synth drones, double reed exhortations and minimalist percussive AACM styled workouts make an appearance in this monolithic dirge. A brief freely swinging section emerges towards the end of the suite, emphasizing the optimistic outlook of the trio.

"And Now ..." is more than a pleasant surprise return to form by one of jazz's finest ensembles. It is a strong contender for jazz album of the year.

This is a nice looking jacket that because of the weight is quite versatile. The contrast stiching is tastefully done and is attractive. The leather is soft and supple. The color is not a true black but a brownish black. You could wear this jacket with any color. Runs a bit small. I wear a 44 and ordered a XL which fits perfectly.

I just received this jacket a few days ago. I like the leather a lot but wish the jacket didn't have so much brown stitching. (Basically everywhere you see a line/seam in the photo, there is a prominent line of brown stitching on either side.) There are obvious brown threads running around the cuffs (2 on each cuff, on the bottom and top), up the sleeves (4 on each sleeve), halfway around each sleeve, up the front on either side of the zipper, adjoining each sleeve to the main body of the coat, two along each seam that leads down to the side pockets, along the bottom of the jacket, around the collar, and 3 pairs along the seams at the sides and back of the jacket. I know that that may sound confusing, but the bottom line is that there is A LOT of stitching that is obvious on this coat. If it wasn't such a hassle to return it, I probably would as I think the nice quality of the leather is ruined by the excessive amount of stitching done in a color that makes it stand out (why didn't they at least use black thread?!).

As someone else also noted, the zipper is of surprisingly poor quality for a coat of this brand and price. As to the other reviewer's mention of this jacket being on the small side, I would say that it is probably cut for people with relatively athletic builds.

I purchased this coat to replace a Nicole Miller brand coat that I purchased for about the same price five years ago. My previous coat had similarly soft leather but with a much dressier style.

I just used this to shoot an entire feature length film (called Night Things). It acts like a much more expensive mic. One of our best peices of equipment.

I would recomend getting a better windscreen if you are going to be shooting outside, as the one that comes with it is very basic. And the shock absorbing harness it comes with is just so-so, so if it is getting bumped around you will definitly hear it.

This title was the first CD collection ever to really represent both sides of Ekseption: their pop/jazz reworkings of classical themes as well as their own compositions which after all _were_ roughly half of their output. Songs are mainly from '69-'73, the Rick van der Linden period, but also present are 5 songs from the '76 album "Back to the Classics", made by what must be called an ad hoc band, as only two of the players had been member of Ekseption at one point.
This collection is not to be missed by any Ekseption fan, and is also a great introduction for anyone with an interest in the hit side of Ekseption. Adding to this: "Selected Ekseption" is the best sounding Ekseption ever, CD or LP (and I virtually drown in different releases). Beautiful!

I purchased these shoes in the red, because I was looking for a pair of sexy shoes with a srurdy heel. Well, when the Roxi arrived, I was a little amazed that it was on an espadrille, as I did not read the detailed description. The espadrille style does not take away anything from the shoe, yet allows it to be more light weight, which is what I wanted anyway. The sandal is comfortable and padded. My feet are slightly wide, and I did not have a problem. The patent is of great quality, and the color is vibrant. I would recommend this shoe to anyone looking for a sexy comfortable sandal. If you usually wear wide width shoes, Jessica Simpson has a few other styles (Bonee, Beve, Josette) which may suit you better. Overall a fantastic shoe.

I got the red patent one. The color is a very rich red and it is very very shiny. The straps are sturdy. The weaving on the heels are slightly more noticeable than in the picture.

It is the most comfortable strappy heel I've worn. it is 3 inches, the platform under the ball of the foot made it easier to walk. I wear 8.5-9 depending on the shoes. I ordered a 8.5, which is just right. Also, tractions! It has great traction on the ball of the foot, but no traction on the heel, which isn't a big deal. That means you won't fall while walking on hard floor.

Overall, high quality looking shoes, pretty comfortable for a 3 in heel and true to size. (It would be so sexy if the heels were glass looking, or mirror/metallic looking...)

A great collection of Diamond Head's years with MCA in the U.S.. The five songs from "Living on Borrowed Time" are great and affordable, ... These are the versions from the U.S. releases. After buying imports to get "Call Me", "Borrowed Time", "Am I Evil", and others I finally have the versions I remembered from my albums. I highly recommend this disc to anyone wanting to try DH for the first time or particularly looking for "Borrowed Time".

After listening to this on a nice long round trip I have to admit that the songs I was unfamiliar with, or, couldn't remember from my albums are impressive. I must also admit, for not being a German or Japanese import the quality of this disc is very good! I have changed from 4 to 5 stars on the rating due to the fact that 4 more songs have piqued my interest and the sound quality of the disc. "It's Electric", "Helpless", "Sucking My Love", and "Makin' Music" have already grown on me in just a few listenings. I Highly recommend this to all!

These shirts are made to wear surfing. You get a rash on your chest from laying down on your surfboard. They are made very tight, and i mean very tight, so they wont get in the way. If you have ever got an ordinary shirt soaking wet you know how it drapes or hangs on you and it is very heavy. This shirt will not do that. As far as fit, unless your in your twenties or very fit, sadly I am neither, It is probably TWO sizes tighter than what you are used to. That said, a larger size will be the way to go but it will still be a stretch fabric shirt.

First piece of advice is don't underestimate your size. I'm a smaller built guy so I almost went with the small; glad I didn't, the medium really does fit like a glove. Its a bit tricky to take off when wet but the form fitting contours keep it out of your way (I'm a diver)and provide nice protection. Durable material, good price compared to what you find in the stores. I wasn't too worried about the style aspect but it does look good on me.

There were reasons why the four crime drama shows on this DVD were "cancelled before thier time"not the least of which was that none of them were particularly good...

"Johnny Staccato"had John Cassevetes as a piano player who moonlights as a sort of private eye..the episode included here"Tempted"had Elizabeth Montgomery,the"Bewitched"girl as the guest star,in some sort of poorly thought-out script about an expensive piece of jewely that may or may not be stolen..Staccato ,the so-called hero is apparently more interested in taking the jewel and the crooked but pretty "Bewitched"girl than doing the right thing and returning the jewel and turning the crooked young thing in to the authorities..No wonder that the audiences in 1959 found this show hard to swallow..but it had nice jazzy music by Elmer Bernstein...too bad the scripts weren't as good

Delvecchio starred Judd Hirsch of"Taxi"fame as a cop who really wants to be a lawyer..Charles Haid ,the director,played his side-kick...In this episode we have John Hillerman,Tom Selleck's"Magnum P.I."sidekick as a quack doctor who so convinces an 18 year old woman that she has stomach cancer that she kills herself..from this point on the script wanders all over the place,from an old cleric's refusal to say a high mass for her because of the nature of her death,to the sub-plot involving her two hot-headed brothers who want to beat the tar out of the doctor for what he'd done..All of the while Delvecchio,who is supposed to know about both police procedures and the law manages to transgress both,without any harm coming to him(in fact,the judgemental script had the quack doctor being beaten and almost killed by the two hot-tempered brothers all to a collective"so what"from Delvecchio and his partner...No wonder this show did not last

Gideon Oliver had Louis Gosseett jr as some sort of a college professor who is also an incredible busy-body,involving himself in areas best left to the police...In this episode(overly long and very draggy)the subject was"satanism",as seen from the vantage point of a script writer who apparently had his head up his butt all of the time he was writing it..The fact that the script writer was none other than Dick Wolfe,responsible for "Law & Order" only beggers the question;how did someone so out of touch with reality ever come up with such a successful show as"Law & Order"?In this moronic script all of the idiot nonsense about pagans and satanists being child-murdering monsters are put on display..Anthony LaPaglia plays some sort of satanic cult leader who murders babies,kills people in order to make snuff films,and behaves like an over-the-top psycho..One of the people LaPaglia has killed is a galpal of Gossett's and he buttinskis his way into the police investigation...I still can't believe that Dick Wolfe wrote this drivel

Touching Evil was apparently a sort of lurid soap opera/crime drama,and as such plopping one isolated episode onto this disc served only to confuse the average viewer,who really had no idea about what was happening or why

Universal television is guilty as in many other studios of releasing one season sets of old shows with limited scope-if they dont sell, there is never a season two released

From Home Media retailing article, Unfinished Business by JESSICA WOLF "Others fared a little better, but were still left by the wayside. Universal Studios Home Entertainment last year released Airwolf: Season One, and it sold nearly 20% of the units of Universal's top TV DVD release for the year, Miami Vice: Season One"

I had hope for this four show one disk special,Brilliant But Cancelled - Crime Dramas . However it seem shoddy release at best, which isnt a good sign. The two of the episodes on this collection are blurred. If you are going to sell a DVD, clean the master copy before copying. There are so many print bubbles on the Johnny Staccato...however the acting is good! The Delvecchio has no opening credits and the copy seems ill fitted for the TV, such as it was miscopied. Touching Evil episode seems as it they just picked an episode from the middle of the bunch, it was more confusing without a backstory.

The Gideon Oliver copy was great but slightly trimmed. However the show lasted ONLY eight 75 mins episode and produced by Law And Order's Dick Wolf. C'mon Universal, you should have gave this an own box set (it was part of the failed mystery movie wheel ABC tried ten years ago-I want a Burt Reynold's B.L. Striker Box set NOW)

Again from the article--"Completists, take note: Not every TV series that begins rolling out on DVD will finish its run. Maybe a first-season set doesn't sell enough copies, or maybe the sales dropoff for the second season is so great that the release door is promptly slammed shut. "

Maybe Universal take heed, You also have many pilots of shows that never made it to series and are sitting on your shelf(as do others like warner Bros, Paramount, etc) with name talent that never made it to series. Gather up a 4-6 episode collection of these with clean masters and put those out. That would be a great Brilliant But Cancelled : The Pilots DVD. I could see that an on going series for your company

I can't say this DVD is a credit with the bad workmanship this has

"Another Poor Quality Universal Release" 2006-05-23

Universal probably has the greatest archive of classic television programs compared to any other studio. And sadly, no single studio has more consistently turned out poor quality releases of those programs on DVD, with their consistently defective double sided DVD-18 discs, not to mention shamefully abandoning many titles after just releasing one season (Dragnet, Adam-12, Kojak, Hardy Boys to name but a few).

The "Brilliant But Cancelled-Crime Dramas" DVD, ostensibly Universal's opportunity to show off some high quality project of theirs that let's us see premiere episodes of certain short-lived programs, sadly falls into the same category. While the premiere episode of "Johnny Stacatto" with John Cassavetes is presented in great quality and uncut, the premiere episode of "Delvecchio" (a 1976 drama with Judd Hirsch) fails on three levels. (1) The episode is taken from what looks like a 16mm print, dark and fuzzy (2) the episode is clearly a cut syndicated print of the kind used on A+E in the early 90s as the episode running time is a mere 45 minutes when 48-50 was the norm in those days and (3) there are NO OPENING TITLES OR CREDITS! Instead the episode starts cold with the episode title and the guest cast so the uninitiated has no idea who stars in the program and who the supporting cast consists of.

Jeers again to Universal for another sad and shoddy chapter in their ongoing history of bad quality TV on DVD releases.

Though, as a single, the disk only contains three tracks, one of which you should already have if you own "The Wind in the Wires" (And if you don't, shame on you!) and another that's only a fairly lackluster demo of that album's title track, it's the middle track that's a true stunner.

Penzance is an absolutely gorgeous, uniquely Patrick Wolf song, and it's quite sad that it isn't in place in one of the main releases (most notably the aforementioned "Wind in the Wires"), where I think it belongs. Patrick's haunting vocals on top of a flowing piano track and eerily discordant strings make this one of my favorite of all of his tracks, and one that I can listen to over and over again without ever seeming to get tired of it. To make an already beautiful song better, it also fits right in with Patrick's second release with its deep and melancholy lyrics:

"It starts in Penzance, where the winds are born, and follows the track of this train. Just like my love calling out for you, it is calling me back again..."

Simply gorgeous. Too bad there's not much to accompany it, which is the only reason this didn't get five stars.

This is, for the most part, a pretty neat little ferris wheel set. It comes as a 477 piece set.

Pros-- It's mostly made of metal, very little plastic, so it's very durable and sturdy when it's fully assembled and when all of the screws and nuts are tightened down. It's neat to watch when it's all adjusted out correctly.

Cons-- The instructions are hard to follow, it's all visual for the most part, no written out instructions. The tools that are provided aren't the best in the world, especially the little wrench. The wheel runs off of 2 rubber bands and a pulley that connects to the motor, and the tension on the rubber bands has to be good and snug so that it will turn the wheel, otherwise it will slip, and it won't spin if the motor runs.

Overall, it's not the best model ferris wheel out there, however, if you are up for a challenge with tiny screws and bolts, this is the model for you. It's all color coded.

My advice is spend the extra money and get the Eitech model. It's very similar but larger in diameter, more detailed, more challenging, and requires no rubber bands to make it run, it's gear-to-gear driven, no pulleys.

The toy was purchased to be a joint project with a very mechanically inclined five year old boy. The product had no written instructions and very minimal diagrams. When constructing the large ferris wheel, it was very frustrating when it was not possible to duplicate both distal portinons of the wheels; and one of the wheels had to be fastened in one level. This set is fun, although not what I typically expect from an Erector Set. The sides of the coaster do not line up properly, therefore causing the seats to not sit correctly and hit the sides when spinning. Also, the motor is NOT strong enough to spin the coaster on its own...I had to jump start it multiple times. I would have been more satisfied without the let down from the motor. Overall, this product only 3 stars from me, where as other Erector Sets have gotten 5 stars.

I had bought a Revere 2-Quart Covered Saucepan and Double Boiler almost 24 years ago. The product worked great as a saucepan with a heavy bottom and as a double boiler. A small spot of the stainless steel coating had worn away after so many years of use and scrubbing with a stainless steel cleanser. I ordered this replacement for the pan, but the "new" pan is much lighter and the stainless steel coating has a rougher surface. The pan is a low quality, "flimsy" replacement for what once was a useful and reliable product. I am very disappointed with this pan and would not recommend it to anyone! Revere Ware is very high quality and is the best value in cookware that I know of. It's affordable yet it works great and lasts for years. This steamer set works well and allows you to steam vegetables so they don't lose their vitamins and healthiness. The steamer section rests securely and the cover fits both pieces. This set has many other uses and since the steamer and saucepan separate you can use the saucepan alone for hundreds of standard recipes. One more thing, Revere Ware doesn't use dangerous anti-stick surfaces, so it promotes safe cooking and eating.

I was so excited to receive this set today...let's just say it's going back tomorrow! I am not happy with it. The sautering on the handle to the double boiler pot is terrible. It is actually sautered clean through to the inside of the pot making a hole there. The joint is so flimsy that when I held the handle and wiggled it a bit, the pot moved almost independent of the handle! I can see having the thing filled with hot liquid and moving it by the handle only to have it fall apart and fling everywhere! I have a few older pots, when they were still made in the USA, and they are of much better quality than this set! I hit ebay and will be bidding on some of the older ones. Newer definitely doesn't mean better! Sorry Amazon...I can't recommend this one at all!

When your looking for some quality porn, this item ranks pretty well. It was much more explict than i expected (chicks on chicks, female masturbation, almost completely public).

Most of the girls were "real" and ddn't look like they just walked out of Playboy or Maxim. They could have been my next door neighbor and I like that. Most are late teens, early 20's and can surely make you hard.

I bought this on vinyl when it was first relesed in 1971 and if you want a slab of good old classic rock this is it. It was produced by Roger Bain who produced the early Black Sabbath albums and was recorded at Rockfield Studios just outside a small town called Monmouth,UK, (the original Monmouth)Rockfield studios gets its name from the local village near bye called Rockfield village which was thought of by local guitarist and producer Dave Edmunds who produced Foghat's first album at Rockfield.Rockfield Studios is still going and as recently as 2009 Heaven & Hell recorded their last album there with the late James Dio.There's a book out on Rockfield Studios call Rock Legends At Rockfield by Jeff Collins. Other Budgie albums to consider are Never Turn Your Back On A Friend their 3rd album and their 5th album Bandolier. What makes the first album so good is the strong songs and good song titles. (As a footnote Monmouth name came about because it's where the mouth of the River Monnow flows in the River Wye.)

Definitely, Budgie was the one of my favorite and the most important British rock band. Compared with their 1st, 3rd, and 4th, this album is slightly weak in speed and power, however, still is shining through the whole vinyl and marks as a minimalistic masterpiece in hard rock history. I have already owned two versions of this album, original first pressing vinyl and Roadrunner version. Recently, I have found this new remastered version came out and eventually got this several days ago in a full expectation for a new dimensional sound. However, after listening to this new version, I'm deeply disappointed at the remastering condition. Even compared with the early 90's version of Roadrunner version, needless to say original vinyl, this version sounds suffocating with the lack of clarity as well as weak with the lack of powerful low-pitched base. Moreover, lack of distinction among instruments and channels. Most recording companies should remember that Alternative mix or later re-jamming version may be a good present for us; however, most of old-rock lovers are more enthusiastic for the new dimensional excellent quality of familiar old stuffs.

"Birth of Metal" 2009-01-31

In 1971, Welsh trio Budgie (Burke Shelly bass/vocals, Tony Bourge guitars, Ray Phillips drums) released this debut album. And of course they became one of the best under the radar bands of all time. Although some have some negative opinions of Budgie (Sabbath rip off's, lack of production etc) none of that really holds up. If you're into the same old same old (Zeppelin, Sab, Purple, Heep, or even Grandfunk and Bloodrock), you should love these guys, although they will never earn their place on the mantal because they never 'made it big'. It really means nothing as this album is quite mindblowing for retro proto heavy metal. The opener Guts is right off the bat bludgeoning you with it's riffs. Budgie are not fast metal, although they do speed up on occasion. Fans of Sab's doom sound should adore it, although Budgie isn't dark. Long, structuered Zeppelin-ish rockers like The Author, Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman, and the vile Homicidal Suicidal are some of the best early day metal produced. Sprinkled upon the album (as with all of Budgie's albums) are short, to the point acoustic folk songs, as Budgie was always into dynamics. Though it may seem bleak to pure metalheads, at this time, not everything was about speed and heavyness. These slight breathcatchers make the metal these guys produce even better. The sound is quite raw which fits it perfect. The cool thing about Budgie, that I believe Zep and Sab lacked is a groove. While Zep certainly had such a thing at certain rare moments, Budgie must have had an appreciation for funk of some kind because, despite being a heavy metal band they underly a lot of unique elements into their sound although this concept wouldn't fully take shape until future efforts. It really adds to how fun it is to listen to Budgie, as mentioned before, Budgie were never into the dark witchcraft/Satanic side of metal songwriting. Either way metal doesnt need to be dark to be heavy, and although most current metalheads are too macho to check out anything like this, Metallica has seemigly given these guys a bit of cred with the generation with their covers, even if they do suck. This is great stuff, metal fan or just pure rock and roll, check them out.

I can't say enough about this album. I came to Budgie through Metallica (like most American kids) in 1990. I first bought this tape (yeah, cassette!) through Camelot Music (do they even still exist?) and was an instant fan. Although the tape is long gone, I can still sing right along with it. In my opinion, this is their best album, although there was some good stuff afterwards. I think Burke Shelley is a mixture of Geddy Lee, Geezer Butler and Satan! Good Stuff!

"Budgie's Breaking the Rules!" 2008-12-25

This is the very first full-lenght Budgie album. Although they are not so famous, they have inspired many bands, including Soundarden and Metallica. This album sounds quite dirty, indeed. I mean that the sounds are not so good. Still, however, the songs are very good, and I enjoy the lyrics especially. "Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman" and "Rape of the Locks" are brilliant provements of great metal. I would say that their music is something between Black Sabbath and Rush with hosted of Led Zeppelin riffs and melodies of The Beatles. Mainly this is heavy metal but there's two peaceful but short songs "Everything in My Heart" and "You And I". With those two songs Budgie wanted to show their The Beatles influences. This was the second Budgie album I bought, the first was "Bandolier". They both are great albums. I recommend you to get at least the first five Budgie albums.

"Rare Early Appearance by The Concert Jazz Band" 2007-10-24

The Swiss label TCB has made available much of the live concert jazz recorded for local radio broadcast in the 1950's and 1960's. This performance found the band in fine form. Dig the frenetic, yet swinging, solo on Mulligan's "The Apple Core" by Zoot Sims. Ben Webster's "Go Home" is particularly pleasing with fine solos by Gerry, Zoot, Bob Brookmeyer, Jim Reider and Mulligan again. Duke's "I'm Gonna Go Fishin'" became a head piece for the band. Don Ferrara, Reider, Brookmeyer, and Mulligan highlight this swinging performance from Montreaux.

If you're a big band jazz fan, you should have at least something from this somewhat unusual 13 piece pianoless group. This would not be a bad place to start - although several other titles are currently available. Incidently, this performance is more inspired than the Paris-Olympia concert.

The Zalman fan, installed on an AMD socket 939 board, to replace a poorly fitting fan, dropped the routine CPU operating temperature from 46 C. to 34 C. Installation was quick and easy, taking approximately 15 minutes. The fan is fairly quiet, although not silent. I would definitely replace other fans with this fan.

I just installed this CPU cooler this afternoon after going on line and reading a few reviews. I have a 3.4GHz Pentium 4 on a socket 478 motherboard. It had been running hot (80 C and over according to the Everest computer status monitor) now that our weather has gotten warm. I checked that I had enough clearance around the processor socket, then installed the new cooler in about ten minutes. The steps for the socket 478 installation were: remove old fan and heat sink, replace the old thermal grease, slip two clip supports into the socket frame, put the new heat sink and fan in place and tighten two bolts. Then plug the fan controller intro the motherboard and the fan motor. That was all (the other socket types looked a little more complicated). I'd disagree that Dub War's debut album is any worse than its successor "Wrong Side of Beautiful". Both albums are very solid works of musical art and must be percieved as unalienable parts of the band's very small legacy (and you can really do without "Enemy Maker", which is a collection of demo versions and remixes). At the same time, the first album is probably less complex in musical texture than the second and more agressive and raw -- no ballads here like Silencer and Cry Dignity. But really go for it -- it's really worthy stuff. And yeah, some parallels can be made with Fishbone and Living Colour (not so much with Bad Brains) but it has its own distinctive style and sound.

We started watching Talking Hands when our son was an infant. We are not an ASL household but we wanted him to learn to communicate earlier than he could learn to talk. The show has always been on-demand from our cable service (in short segments). Some reviewers here have commented that the show lacks excitement and wow factor. This is true and is exactly the reason that we have continually watched it over and over again. We deliberately avoided loud and obnoxious kids shows in favor of calmer educational and musical shows. As a result, our son has always loved Talking Hands. Don't get me wrong, he is a very energetic boy - loves climbing and running - but he still takes mellow breaks to sit and study (not just watch, you can see in his eyes that he is studying) each move and word of the Talking Hands video. He even hums the theme song when it starts and stops.

Here is an example of how he has used what he learned: Our local grocery stores gives out free cookies to kids, and before our son could talk we'd ask him if he wanted to go to the store and get a cookie. He quickly learned to do the sign for cookie to signal that he wanted to go. Now he is two and is saying the words that he learned from watching Talking Hands so much. He can speak and sign most of the words on the show (he doesn't seem to get the meaning of words like "play"). Both his signs and words are imperfect, but since baby and parent alike have learned together, we understand each other very well as a result.

My (rather opinionated) advice would be to start your children early on this video and don't expose (assault) them with more exciting (ADHD inducing) alternatives. ;-) Of course every child is different, so your mileage may vary. Also you must learn the signs along with your child and use them constantly.

Our twin girls started watching this DVD around 15 months old, and they quickly picked up on most of the signs after seeing it only a few times. Once they learned the sign for "more", they would ask to watch it "more" over and over again. :-)

Up until that point, our girls were a little late in their verbal development, but after seeing this video it vastly improved their vocabulary, both signing and verbal.

I've seen clips of a few other sign language videos for kids (some on the web, some from Comcast On-Demand), and in my un-scientific opinion I think Talking Hands is the least likely to induce ADHD. Other videos (like Baby Signing Time and Baby Einstein) have a lot of distracting animations and/or rapid transitions from scene to scene, whereas Talking Hands has an adult or child repeating each sign very slowly and deliberately multiple times, then showing actual real-world examples of each sign.

I highly recommend Talking Hands!

Having owned and used the Baby Einstein's DVD "First Signs" for my infant granddaughter, I was pleased to find this DVD using the ASL sign language.

She is now a toddler, and ready to learn more signs. Already she knows quite a few signs at the tender age of 16 months. This DVD has a much clearer presentation of each sign than the Baby Einstein's version. Not only does it include basic words, but it also includes the alphabet and counting. A minor complaint is that I wished they did not use all CAPS in their words because it would aid the child in also learning to read each word as they "sign" it. Another plus is that the DVD is divided into chapters making it easier to present just one segment at a time. At the end of the DVD, it also presents a quiz testing the viewer's knowledge of the signs. The producers also included some "special needs" kids in their video which I thought was a nice touch.

I have this and the Signing Time series 1. I prefer this as there is no fluff, such as singing. The words are repeated several times and the signs are at the same time. Different people show the signs and it's just very straight forward.

My only complaint is were are the rest of the DVD's? Once these words are learned, one must turn elsewhere to continue learning more words. I'm almost tempted to make my own DVD's to fill the need.

I have to admit this creeped me out when I was a kid. The bizarre subject matter and Bowie at his most affected were just too strange for me in my adolescence and time has not improved my opinion. I will admit to a certain fascination with the psychotic narrator of "Running Gun Blues" the quirky little interruption of "Black Country Rock" and the title cut and "The Width of a Circle" still have an exotic majesty, but the overall effect is an odd mixture of apocalyptic science fiction and pointlessness. Musically there are a lot of interesting choices but by the time Bowie gets done with his various methods of doing in humanity, I found myself bored by the repetitiveness of these themes. Bowie proves it's no fluke by then going on to realize the full mutation of Ziggy and Aladdin, each a more mature and more deliberate record than this. Hey, you gotta re-restart somewhere...

I was looking for a replacement for my thin "hair towels" which are now ragged with age. This works well -- thin and absorbent. As pointed out in the other reviews it's about the size of a larger hand towel, which is fine for me.

However, based on the descriptions and the price, I'd hoped to have something super and amazing that would render my hair dryer all but obsolete. If you don't care what you spend, buy this towel -- but otherwise I wish I'd bought something cheaper. (I wanted to give 3.5 stars.)

--I noticed just now that today's price is much lower than the over twenty dollars I paid. It won't let me change the stars, but I'd've rated it higher. Watch for sales!

I bought this because i have a bunch of excess from having a baby about 2 months ago, and i wanted something that would suck me in, even if i didnt lose weight, at least to look good in some clothes again.

Well it took awhile to get here, but no harm done, i tried it on for size, im a large/xl, and i bought a medium for maximum control, and BOY DOES IT CONTROL. It takes a minute to get on because i had to literally squeeze myself into it (which was a good sign), but its made very sturdy and held me in completely. I immediately had an hourglass figure and a flat stomach. I look great in all my wonderful clothes again!

A couple downsides, you cant exactly wear this under very clingy clothes without at least a cami because the hooks are visible, making it a little obvious you have a corset underneath. You are forced to sit completely upright with your shoulders back, or you will be highly uncomfortable, and its a little hard to drive with it on (because of the way you have to sit).

Because its made of rubber, it definitely will help you lose weight, after just doing some household chores, it was warm to the touch from my body heat, and even after i took it off, i could still feel my muscles contracting in the shape of the corset. I havent had it long enough to see how well it works as a weigh loss tool, but i'll be back in a month or so!

My advice, definitely go DOWN a size from your natural size in clothes for maximum control and shape, and dont plan on eating much or doing anything that will require you to bend too much or lean over, it doesnt work well in this.

I would be careful to double check the sizes when you order clothes or any type of material that goes on your body. There was no sizing chart for this item. I went with the best size for this product but when I got it the company had their own sizing chart on the back of the packaging material and I was WAY OFF. I ordered a med and I needed to go up a few sizes. I contacted amazon and got it strainghtened out so that was good. The product looks very promising though. I am excitied to order the right size and try it out. The material was very firm seems to be very derable and looks like a great product. let you know how it goes when I get the new one.

I think the concept is great but with this particular product, they have these sections that are thicker rubber (or whatever the material is) and it literally pushed into my ribs every time I sit down. I commute a lot and have a desk job so its not a very pleasant experience to have that pushing and bruising your rubs every day. It would've been nice except for those thicker lines of rubber that aren't very flexible.

He turns the amperage down, adds some beautiful jazz piano and arrangements underneith his always soulful, keeping-it-real lyrics for some really nice songs. I first heard Francis Dunnery when I was like ten years old and American Life In The Summertime was on the radio. I heard nothing else from him until a couple years ago when I finally picked up a cheap used copy of Fearless. I was kinda into it, but I didn't love it. I found a cheap used copy of Let's Go Do What Happens soon thereafter, and liked it less. Some glimmers of talent came through, but mostly it didn't gel. So in light of that I didn't expect much from this new album, but it has completely floored me. This album is an amazing masterpiece. Everything David Gray wishes he could be. Everything Pat Metheny wishes he could be. Everything Dave Matthews wishes he could be. So much atmosphere, so much harmony, so much depth. If you like music you will love this album.

Not being with a major label really agrees with FD. The first indication of this was the wonderful "Man" CD and now we have "The Gulley Flats Boys", 2 CDs packed with one fine song after another. Accompanied by David Sancious on keys and Dorie Jackson on backing vocals, Francis reflects on the journey to middle-age. There are some truly beautiful pieces here, "My Father's Eyes" being the centerpiece. "Soldier", the song which kicks off the first disc, is instantly likable and will, along with many others, stay in your head. One thing you can say about Francis Dunnery is that he's consistant, consistantly excellent.

I ordered two of these rings and am very happy with both. I agree with previous reviewers that there are sharp edges on the ring, however I don't find them to be of any danger. I did, by accident, scratch the inside of a car window in a rental when I smacked a bug. Titanium is a strong metal and the ring is holding up well. I'm hard on my jewelry and so far, this one is standing the test. The ring sized a little larger than I had expected, and I did use a professional sizer to measure before ordering. Wear an 11 but ended up exchanging it for a 10.

Our first machine broke within a month. Eventually, the company sent a new one. Now it's broken again, only this time the warranty is expired. Krups, I expected so, so much better of you. I wish I had read the reviews before buying this machine! If you're shopping, listen to the vast majority of the reviews and do NOT buy this one. It is my firm opinion that those who assigned higher than one star just haven't had it long enough--give it another year, and they'll all be broken and the owners coffeeless and (ironically) bitter.

After 6 weeks, a dozen e-mails and 4 or 5 phone calls, (the last two telling me that my refund was being processed "right now"), still no refund rec'd. I'm out $33.18...don't let it happen to you. Do not do business with Beach Camera. There are plenty of other companies offering similar, (and better), products with better Customer Service.

Ty Girlz is obviously for girls, which reduces the chances of it getting as many friends, although there are male fans...me...but thats only becasue it's fun. It's very customizable and the games are fun, even more fun than Webkinz most of the time. The only problem is that it isn't too educational. They do have some games that make you think, but where it lacks in education, it has creativity and imagination, which is just as useful as education. The only other probelm is that it sometimes doesn't show stuff and freezes, but it comes back if you restart it (mostly games).

I'm a henna artist, and got a few of these for party gigs where you're not always guaranteed a good light source. Let me tell you, they work great! They're small, lightweight, and easy to pack in my on-the-go henna kit. The light is also easily adjusted to point where you need it to. My boyfriend stole one of mine for installing hardware in his computer. I would suggest having extra batteries handy if you use it regularly on gigs, because my batteries didn't last quite as long as I was hoping (though they did last through multiple gigs).

I was a bit skeptical at first since I was replacing an over-the-ear light that I had liked. So far I have been pleased with the ease of putting this one on (I wear glasses) and particularly like the ability to tilt the light manually to a set position. I do find the on-off switch a bit stiff to work, but I would buy this one over other models if I need another replacement.

This is great when you really need it. you'll be working in a dark area (like a car engine or under the sink) and as you may know, it gets hard to hold a flashlight while holding a wrench and bracing yourself for leverage. The light shines bright and you can adjust the direction of the light. It's also very easy to put on your ear. Just pull the black piece back a little, place on ear like headphones and then push the black piece back in place. Comfortable and holds well to the ear. Sometimes, it doesnt feel like you have it on. I would recommend this to the handyman or hobbyman of the household.

Tired of the frustrations and "control issues" of their group the Greenberry Woods, Matt and Brandt Huseman recruited multi-instrumentalist pal Paul Krysiak to record a one-off power pop side project. It's hard to believe that they recorded this gem in between the two GBW albums, harder still to believe that it was written and recorded in approximately a weekend! This raw and unrelentingly catchy album was thankfully not the last we got to hear from Splitsville. Sure, it's nowhere near as polished as the subsequent discs, but Splitsville USA has terrific appeal and charm because of its DIY nature. With these guys, it's ALL good!
