I have had one of these since they first came out & I love it! Everything about it is great...for ME. Maybe not for other people, but, for me, it's perfect. I would recommend this product to a friend.
P.S. The only thing I can think of that I didn't care for was the Bluetooth relay unit had to be plugged directly into the pc & could NOT be plugged into a USB hub.

I was looking for a full size bluetooth wireless mouse, and not luck... I am picky :), then one day wandering the empty offices in my workplace, I found one of these mice that somebody left behind. Initially it didn't work at all, of course but I was pretty sure I could just replace the battery and get it going in no time.
Some research, I found people complaining about the batteries going belly up and no replacement offered by Logitech: what a shame. So good mouse. But there are alternatives and for a skilled person I was able to use the battery of my Palm Treo 650, by swapping the "internal" circuit charger and to use the Treo's core battery.
Did the job, dropped in the charger, worked perfectly.
What a joy : the mouse feels awesome in the hand (a little different if you are lefty), will immediately respond to your touch, even after you take a long break for bathroom. It is a bit bigger than a full size regular corded mouse, but it has to be: you should see inside its guts how crowded the hardware is....
Precision is above any optical mouse. No delays, no lagging, no nothing ! All is fantastic.
Lots of buttons: scroll up, down, sideways (yes ! you can move the wheel left/rigth to do horizontal scrolling), plus "browser history back or forward" (I suppose it is equivalent to ALT-Left-arrow/ALT-Right-Arrow) plus the equivalent of ALT-TAB on Windows, to display the list of running apps, so you activate with your thumb, switch straight to the one you want instead of having to navigate sequentially with alt-tab. Great feature.
Oh yeah baby: you can configure all these funky buttons the way you want by using "SetPoint" app, downloaded for free from Logitech.
Good things: all of the above is good, except no direct battery replacement, but can be done. If anyone needs, I can do the job :D
Bad things: Logitech doesn't make them anymore (sigh). The ones selling here on Amazon are absurdily expensive, but still it is a choice to be considered. If you are really serious about a new mouse, wireless.. well, I love mine and will "fix" it over and over.
What else can I say without being cheesy ? If you find one, go for it !

The cursor never jumped or paused in the three months we used it, and in addition to the $80 MX1000's laser precision, it is comfortable to use--for right-handers, anyway. The deeply carved left side provides a snug perch for your thumb, and the rubberized plastic on either side makes for exceedingly comfortable mousing. You'll find three programmable keys above your thumb and three more, including the scrollwheel itself, are on the top.
The wireless mouse ships with an RF base station, which doubles as a battery charger. Battery life is phenomenal; you can go days without recharging. We particularly like the battery-power meter along the top of the mouse. You may forget to recharge the MX1000 at the end of the day because the battery lasts so long on a single charge, so the three green LEDs are a good reminder: when it gets down to one light, it's time to recharge.
Despite the fact that the MX1000 uses a compact lithium-ion battery, it's still on the large and heavy side for a mouse. Its size may not appeal to everyone, but we preferred the substantial feel to that of a mouse that seems like a piece of cheap plastic.
The Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse is the one mouse that truly has it all: precise control, ergonomic comfort, cordless freedom, and long battery life, plus an attractive overall look to boot.

This is a great mouse that I've been using for four years now. I play games frequently, as well as do other normal computing tasks.
This mouse is still competitive when compared to Logitech's newer replacement mice, for the simple fact that the button placement is amazing. Three buttons near the thumb, which I mapped to forward/back and CTRL-Tab, allow me to do all of my internet surfing. I mapped the other two buttons to hotkeys for my games. In the newer Logitech MX Revolution, the middle thumb button is remove, as well as the two directional buttons by the scroll. WHY?? It seems that Logitech actually took a few steps back with the Revolution. The only thing it has over the MX 1000 is a spinning scroller...
The battery is still going after four years, although I do have a habit of putting the mouse in its charger when I'm not using it. However, when I first got it the battery was awesome. I used to leave the mouse on the mousepad for days, without seeing the battery indicator go down.
Overall, great mouse. No connection problems, good reception, good enough response time to play games. I will probably buy another one of these when I leave for graduate school.

Sadly this mouse (at least the release I have) is horrible at interference. (My version came with the MX 5000 keyboard.)
I had constant lag issues and could not figure out what was going on. I tried updating the software, I tried using it without the software, I tried using the Windows bluetooth and then Logitech's software for that. Nothing I did worked, until I moved my computer into a different room from my wireless router.
What Logitech doesn't tell you is that wifi devices and other wireless mice interfere with this mouse HORRIBLY. I don't know if a different Bluetooth adapter would fix the issue, but out of the box, the adapter it came with, this mouse does not function well.
When you get it in a room with no interference, it works GREAT! 5 star worthy.
I purchased an MX620 and it's updated adapter has no interference issues. I'm currently waiting for my MX1100 to come in the mail so I can compare it to that.
